I've already written an article comparing Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and in that article I said that Modern Warfare 3 was more like playing a movie than a game.  I still hold that opinion.

Since that article I've had more time with it and just recently completed the Single player campaign.  It took about 9 hours culminating in a textbook Modern Warfare boss battle.  Very satisfying but a bit short for $59.99.

Battlefield 3 players to get hefty 2GB patch PDF Print E-mail

Soon PC gamers will be able to traverse Battlefield 3's virtual warzones without sunglasses. DICE is preparing a weighty 2GB patch that addresses a host of issues, including an adjustment to the blinding tactical flashlights. According to the changelog, tac lights will produce less glare over "longer ranges." There's a comparison shot below that demonstrates how much the lens flare has been scaled down at a medium distance.

The patch will also deliver most of the content for the Back to Karkand DLC along with dozens of other tweaks. The IRNV scope is now limited to close range, certain weapons are properly suppressed and conceal your minimap location, stealth air vehicles are less effective, firing a weapon on full auto is less accurate, miniguns are weaker against jets and helicopters, and 12g FRAG ammo is less effective with auto and semi-auto shotguns.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Patch 1.06 Revealed PDF Print E-mail

Five title updates have already gone into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in order to address persistent issues with the game’s multiplayer. Today on the official Call of Duty forums, Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling outlined these fixes and revealed what will be going into the sixth update for the game.

Most notably, it appears as though the team at Infinity Ward is working to reduce lag and remove the ability for users to sneak buttons into their clan tag. There’s no specific date as to when the patch will be released, but with Infinity Ward’s reliable track record on such matters, it should be no time before gamers will have to boot up the game twice on start-up.

Video game systems among top Black Friday products PDF Print E-mail

Black Friday

Sony's PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360 are among the top Black Friday products, according to online comparison shopping site PriceGrabber.com.

As part of the site's coverage of Black Friday shopping, PriceGrabber has been crunching data daily to track what shoppers are most interested in. The site's Holiday Dashboard Report for Friday morning shows an increase in searches for higher-priced tech products -- and the rise of game systems to spots No. 2 and 3 on the chart.

Reasons for game systems' popularity? "The lines between a computer, a video game console, and a tablet are blurring, because you can do many of the same things on each, such as streaming video," says PriceGrabber general manager Graham Jones.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations For Windows PC Leaked For Download On Torrents One Week Ahead Of Its Launch PDF Print E-mail

Well, that went quick didn’t it? Assassin’s Creed: Revelations for Windows PC has been leaked for download on torrent websites one week prior to the game’s official launch. The game was already released for PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 15th and it gathered plenty of positive reviews as the general consensus is that Revelations is the “most complete” Assassin’s Creed game of this popular franchise.

The game, developed by Ubisoft Montreal, is now available for illegal download on torrents, and contrary to popular belief, it’s a working version. We haven’t tested it, but reading through the Skidrow description as well as the comments of the “pirates,” the game is confirmed to be working after applying the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations crack created by the aforementioned hacking community.

The leaked Assassin’s Creed: Revelations files for Windows are sized at 7.89GB and if you don’t have the IQ of a turkey, then you can easily install the files. I believe that Ubisoft will be deeply disappointed to hear that the game is working as intended without needing to pay a single dollar for ACR. Still, the game has some nice multiplayer features and the whole experience can only be lived online therefore if you truly want to play.

Like always, we’re not encouraging piracy and we hope that SOPA will not go through, but the Ubisoft developers and engineers have worked hard to create this game, while the company has invested a lot of money and they will need the resources to create yet another Assassin’s Creed game.
